Training for Women & Youth in Agribusiness
We invest in farmers as entrepreneurs, also focusing on new opportunities for women and youth, through technical, business/marketing and food safety training.
If we want to achieve our vision, we need qualified individuals to help us get there. The main objectives of the Advisory Board are to support strategic initiatives, advocate for the Bountifield mission, and help substantially increase funding. Board members will be asked to:
- Serve as ambassadors of Bountifield’s mission and purpose through engagement and communication
- Participate in fundraising strategy that results in a strong and financially stable organization with diverse revenue streams and potential for a larger pool of non-restricted funds. This could include connecting Bountifield with experts and funding entities specific to food and agriculture, business and African development.
- Take part in speaking engagements (both getting them and speaking on behalf of the organization).
- Provide pro-bono support for specific program needs (as needed basis).
The advisory board will be invited to meet at least twice a year to share updates on goals and objectives, discuss strategies, and brainstorm on new opportunities. Additionally, Bountifield staff will send quarterly updates and organize opportunities for networking and learning more about Africa and the work of the organization.
"I was intrigued by the stories of African smallholder women farmers whose productivity was vastly improved by using Bountifield’s simple, rugged, postharvest tools for nuts, millet, maize and other crops."
