Who We Are

We are committed to providing sustainable postharvest solutions for eliminating hunger in sub-Saharan Africa through partnering with African farmers, focusing on the particular needs of African women, and creating sustainable business solutions led by Africans.

Life-Changing Tools and Services

Based in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota with offices in Dakar, Senegal and Lilongwe, Malawi, we provide smallholder farmers in Africa with life-changing, simple hand-powered and motorized tools and support them with services that allow their farms to thrive and become bountiful agricultural enterprises.

Making an impact for over 38 years

Originally founded in 1981 as "Compatible Technology International," we have decades of experience developing solutions for rural farmers around the globe with tools that have been distributed in more than fifty countries. We are committed to working as partners with the farmers and communities we work with, developing solutions that fit the needs of the people who will be using them. Over the last three decades, we have made tremendous strides in combating hunger and poverty in emerging economies and impacted hundreds of thousands of people.
